Senior IT Infrastructure Specialist (m/fn)

You're the person people call when the server is down, the certificate expired on Friday morning, and nobody knows why the cluster is misbehaving. You find the root cause, fix it properly, and make sure it doesn't happen again.

We're looking for an experienced infrastructure expert to join our IT & Digitalisation team. You'll own the core of our hybrid infrastructure across an international manufacturing group, from on-premises virtualization and servers to our growing Azure footprint, and help shape where it goes next.

What you'll do

• Run and improve our virtualization platform. We're on VMware today and evaluating our options for the future, so your expertise will help drive that decision.
• Troubleshoot servers in depth, physical and virtual, from the OS down to hardware, storage and network.
• Manage certificates and PKI: create CSRs, build and fix certificate chains, debug SSL/TLS issues, and keep our internal CA healthy.
• Work across our hybrid environment, connecting on-premises infrastructure with Azure (networking, identity, hybrid workloads). If Azure is new to you, this is where you'll grow.
• Monitor availability and performance, dig into logs and act before users notice a problem.
• Design and build scalable, secure infrastructure that supports our business and factory operations.
• Keep our infrastructure secure and compliant: hardening, patching and access control.
• Lead or contribute to infrastructure projects with IT and cross-functional teams.
• Document what you build clearly enough that someone else can maintain it.

What you bring

• At least 3 years of hands-on IT infrastructure experience, with a real track record in a similar role.
• Strong VMware vSphere expertise (ESXi, vCenter, clustering, HA/DRS, storage). Experience with Hyper-V, Proxmox, Nutanix or similar is a plus.
• Solid Windows Server administration skills: AD, DNS, DHCP, GPO, and troubleshooting when things get ugly.
• Practical PKI and SSL/TLS knowledge, such as AD Certificate Services, OpenSSL, certificate formats and chain validation.
• A security mindset, with experience applying compliance and hardening standards.
• Familiarity with ITIL-based service management (incident, change, problem).
• A degree in IT, Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
• Fluent English and Croatian, spoken and written.

Nice to have

• Hands-on Azure experience, such as VMs, VNets, VPN/ExpressRoute, Azure Arc, Entra Connect or hybrid identity
• VMware (VCP), Azure (AZ-104) or other virtualization, server or storage certifications
• Linux administration and scripting (PowerShell, Bash)
• Exposure to OT or industrial environments
• ITIL or Microsoft 365 certifications
