Hot End Manager

We invited to Production Team professional expert for role Hot End Manager, who has proven experience in a similar position in a glass factory and good communication skills, flexibility and people management skills

 

As Hot End Manager, in this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the hot end and coordinating production actions from the feeders until the beginning of the lehr.

 

This role reports to Plant Manager.

Direct reports – Hot End Workshop Supervisor, Mould Shop Supervisor, Mould design, Hot End Technicians

 

Key responsibilities

  • Ensuring implementation of planned tasks on all production indicators, rhythmic production of high quality products
  • Participating in the development and launch a new range of products in production
  • Providing of technically correct operation and maintenance of HE equipment
  • Systematically to consider the causes of defects, detected during the production process, to take measures for their removal
  • Providing a high level of glassware quality at the planned production key figures (Pack to pieces, Pack to melt, Furnace load etc.)
  • Participating in replacement of assortment, to provide high-quality work of IS machine after replacement of assortment in accordance with the approved regulations, time standards
  • Ensuring compliance with discipline and internal work regulations by subordinate employees
  • Analysing the performance of the equipment
  • To organize and ensure safe technological processes, safe equipment operation, stable and trouble-free operation of all facilities, safe conduct of hazardous works, fireworks and other high-risk works in the sectors
  • Compliance with labour and fire safety requirements
  • Controlling for creation of safe and healthy working conditions on the workplace in a subordinate unit
  • Establish safety guidelines/instructions for the Hot Zone and its services
  • Organize and coordinate job changes between the departments involved
  • Control of settings outside tolerances and corrective measures
  • Monitor and improve productivity
  • Animation of the end of tranche meeting, price calculations, article development sessions
  • Staff training
  • Collaborates in the establishment of the production schedule to optimize production
  • Ensures the technical management of the installations in the hot zone
  • Daily analysis of production problems and corrections
  • Optimize feeder settings
  • Coordination and improvement between the mold workshop, the production teams and the development
  • Collaborate with the IS workshop for preventive maintenance and with other workshops for maintenance
  • Oversee and analyze subordinate sector fees on a monthly basis
  • Organize the pickets in the Hot Zone
  • Establish guidelines and staff training for the Hot Zone in the event of major problems (power failure, incidents, emergency)

 

 

The Successful Candidate

  • Proven experience in a similar position in a glass manufacturing
  • Standard operating procedures for all tasks undertaken
  • Excellent organisational and follow-up skills
  • Competent in problem solving, team building, planning and decision making
  • A team player attitude with good communication skills
  • Computer skills (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor`s or master`s degree, relevant manufacturing/engineering degree
  • Minimum 5 years of work experience according to specialization degree
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in operational management of production at the leading positions in the field of glassware production
  • English knowledge, verbal and writing, B2 and above, French or Portuguese would be an advantage
