Technical Performance Director

Location: Bulach, Switzerland preferably

 

Responsibilities
 

  • Lead direct team and matrix employees in the Vetropack plants
  • Ensure the position of the Vetropack production units as the benchmark in the European glass industry regarding technological development, raw material consumption, productivity and quality.
  • Ensure the uniform and cost-efficient operation of the production facilities in the Vetropack plants
  • Definition, documentation, interpretation and communication of suitable KPIs to assess the effectiveness of the processes in the plants and the quality of the products in cooperation with holding functions
  • Definition, implementation, and monitoring of activities for continuous process and quality improvement and of lean manufacturing throughout the company
  • Operational support of the Vetropack plants during commissioning of new production facilities as well as with productivity and quality problems
  • Coordinate know-how transfer to increase productivity and improve product quality within the Vetropack Group
  • Ensure the operation of sustainable production processes in order to achieve the 2050 carbon footprint targets
  • Cooperate with the Business Units and the Corporate Functions to achieve the objectives defined in Vetropack Group Strategy 2030
  • Standardization and optimization of the glass compositions in the Vetropack plants as well as usage of raw materials
  • Auditing of process standards in the plants in accordance with specifications from Vetropack's QS / IM system
  • Close cooperation and support of the Technology and Projects group in achieving common departmental goals
  • Organization of training courses for the implementation of process standards and best practice processes in the plants
  • Execution of production-related due diligence as part of the Vetropack Group's M&A activities
  • Participation in European and international working groups and associations
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Planning and responsibility for the budget and resources for the respective area

 

 

The Successful Applicant
 

  • University degree in a relevant field of study, Master's degree preferred
  • Minimum 8 years production/technical experience and at least 3 in a similar function
  • Good written and verbal communicator with fluency in English
  • Acts as role model and lives continuous improvement mind set in the team
  • Act as a change agent able to communicate effectively, listen and challenge the status quo
  • Able to translate business strategy and company goals into relevant departmental goals/KPIs setting the right direction
  • Results oriented, hands-on, strong problem solving capabilities
  • Able to lead remote teams, in a matrix organization, working closely with production sites building a strong network, supporting development and coaching
  • Prepared to travel 50%
