Position overview:

The Talent Manager is responsible for overseeing and guiding all aspects of talent identification, development, and succession planning within the organization. This role is crucial in ensuring that the company has a robust pipeline of talent ready to take on critical positions, as well as in fostering the growth and development of high-potential employees. The Talent Management Lead will work closely with senior leadership, HR teams, and other stakeholders to design and implement talent management strategies that align with the organization's goals and values.

Key responsibilities:

Talent Identification and Development:
You will be responsible for identifying high-potential individuals within the organization and designing development programs that help them grow more quickly. This includes creating actionable development plans for each talent and ensuring that their managers are actively involved and supportive throughout their development journey.

Career and Succession Planning:
In this task, you will identify critical roles within the company and make sure there are deputies or successors in place for these positions. You will conduct regular reviews of succession plans to ensure the organization is prepared for any changes. You will also work closely with senior leadership to validate promotions for senior roles, making sure they align with the organization's leadership competencies.

Coaching and Talent Assessment:
Your role involves defining and implementing coaching programs for selected individuals, using the right tools and partners. You will develop and maintain tools to objectively assess talent, regularly providing feedback to senior management. You will also meet frequently with identified talents to support them through their development plans, assess their progress and readiness, and build strong relationships with them.

Leadership Competency Mapping:
A leadership competency framework is developed to align with the company’s strategic goals. Part of your job will be to engage business leaders to gain their commitment to this framework and ensure it is implemented across the organization. You will also evaluate leaders and talents against these competencies and provide constructive feedback and development recommendations.

Budget Management:
You will be tasked with proposing and managing the budget for all talent management initiatives. This involves making sure resources are allocated effectively to support the organization’s strategic goals.

Stakeholder Engagement and Communication:
In this area, you will collaborate with the Communications team to develop a strategy that informs employees about the Talent Management function and aligns internal branding with its vision. You will also train local HR teams on best practices to ensure consistency across the organization and maintain regular communication with senior leaders to understand their priorities and keep them informed about Talent Management activities.

Talent and Organization Reviews (TOR):
You will lead and continuously improve the Talent and Organization Review (TOR) process at the senior level in collaboration with the CHRO and CEO. This includes preparing and organizing the agenda for the Executive Leadership Team to ensure effective TOR meetings. You will also ensure local TORs are conducted properly and, ideally, participate in or coordinate these reviews to achieve successful outcomes.

Expert Career Path Development:
Your role here involves identifying experts within the organization and defining clear career paths for them. You will develop strategies to retain these experts, recognize their value, and encourage them to share their knowledge.

Vision and Strategy for Talent Management:
You will be responsible for defining the vision and long-term strategy for the Talent Management function, making sure it aligns with the company's overall objectives. This includes setting, measuring, and communicating key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the success of Talent Management initiatives.
