Group Forming Support Manager

Locations: Croatia (Hum Na Sutli) preferably; Austria, Italy, Slovak, Czech Republic optional. 
We are looking for an experienced leader in the glass production to join our Group Performance Team in order to ensure the position of the Vetropack production units as the benchmark in the European glass industry regarding technological development, raw material consumption, productivity and quality. 
 As Forming Support Manager, you will play a key role in development of strategies for continuous improvement in cooperation with the management team and know-how transfer and best practice exchange between the plants of the Vetropack Group. One of the long-term objective of the role is ensuring the operation of sustainable production processes in order to achieve the 2050 carbon footprint targets.


Reporting directly to Group Forming Performance Manager, in Switzerland. 
Key objectives:
•    Analyse, optimize and standardize production processes across the group with the main focus on forming process in order to improve operational effectiveness, product quality and external customer satisfaction at the lowest cost
•    Definition, documentation, interpretation and communication of suitable KPIs to assess the effectiveness of the processes in the plants and the quality of the products in cooperation with holding functions
•    Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, as well as all other company policies and procedures
•    Perform administrative activities necessary for the effective management of the departments including the selection and development of employees, effective employee and union relations
•    Monitor department performances and report on negative impacted areas while developing and implementing continuous improvement
•    Leadership of Forming Support department
•    Planning and responsibility for the budget and resources of the area of responsibility
•    Coordination and completion of projects on time within budget and within scope. 
•    Oversee all aspects of projects. Set deadlines, assign responsibilities, and monitor and summarize progress of project. Prepare reports for upper management regarding status of project.
•    Collaborate with various group or local production specialists (cross-functional organization) to achieve strategic goals as well as performance KPI’s
•    Collaborate with Procurement department (Lead buyers) to establish demand/supply planning measures and controls with a closed loop root cause and corrective action process to improve forecast accuracy, service levels and optimize inventories
•    Auditing of process standards in the plants in accordance with specifications from Vetropack's QS / IM system
•    Organization of training courses for the implementation of process standards and best practice processes in the plants
•    Coordinate and ensure the transfer of know-how within the Vetropack Group
•    Participation in the definition and standardization of production facilities and processes
•    Participation in the procedural development of the production processes
•    Close cooperation and support to Technology & Projects and Innovation departments in achieving common departmental goals


The Successful Candidate
•    Leading in a matrix organization working closely with production sites building a strong network
•    Ability to translate business strategy and company goals into relevant departmental goals/KPIs setting the right direction
•    Being opportunity minded and thinking long term

•    Act as a change agent able to communicate effectively, listen and challenge the status quo

•    Ability to build a successful team, supporting development, coaching and assessing skills to identify strengths and gaps as well as plans to bridge this gap

•    Bachelor’s degree of technical or mechanical education
•    10 years of experience in glass production and 3 years of experience in Hot End as Hot End Manager or Process Team leader with managerial experience
•    MS office is a must
•    SAP, CAD as advantage
•    Willingness to travel 80% of working time and deal with irregular working hours (projects)
•    English level C1 minimum in spoken and written language. German B2 is good to have
